Sports Injury Alert:
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant sat out of practice Wednesday and was limited in Thursday’s session with a back issue. That issue may be more serious than it was originally perceived.
The Cowboys claim that Bryant’s limited participation in practice this week was precautionary. However, Fox Sports Southwest reports Bryant may be suffering from a bulging or herniated disc in his back, and that treatment measures for his back “go far beyond precautionary.” Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones dismissed the report saying he hasn’t “heard anything like that or close to it.”
Bryant declined to give specific details pertaining to his condition. However, despite the increased cause for concern surrounding the star wide receiver, Bryant insists the issue will not keep him off the field for Sunday night’s matchup with the New Orleans Saints.
“C’mon, you know I’m going to play,” Bryant told reporters Thursday.
