NFL Injury Report:
After finalizing their 53-man roster, the Dallas Cowboys opened up an extra spot when they placed left guard Nate Livings on the season ending injured reserve list, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.
Livings underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee during the summer after an offseason filled with injury issues. Despite having three years left on his contract with the Cowboys, Livings' future in Dallas is up in the air now that Ron Leary has taken over the starting job at left guard.
With an opening on their 53-man roster, expect the Cowboys to try to add some desperately needed depth to the interior of their offensive line with that extra spot. The saying, "one man's trash, is another man's treasure" never rings truer than at this time of year when teams will pick up players who didn't make another team's roster, to fill their own needs. The Cowboys may not find treasure at this point, but they have to hope they can t least find an offensive lineman who is a good fit, in order to improve quarterback Tony Romo's protection.
