Cowboys, 3 – Raiders, 0
I confess to having watched every second of the trainwreck last night that was Cowboys vs. Raiders. The ugliest NFL team in the ugliest NFL town playing in the ugliest NFL stadium in front of the ugliest NFL fans against the team with one of the ugliest post-season track records over the past decade and a half can produce but one thing: ugly, ugly football.
What a mess.
Of course, I have been a connoisseur of the NFL long enough to understand that anybody who reads anything into—or takes anything away from—an NFL preseason game is delusional. It makes absolutely no difference how a team performs in week one of the preseason. It is in no way a predictor or precursor of things to come.
And thank God for that, if you are a Cowboys or Raiders fan.
Against the NFL’s worst defense from a year ago, the Cowboys’ number one unit managed 22 yards in 11 plays.
Most of those yards came on the one play that might give a fan some hope: a T...

Terrelle Pryor could be the quarterback of the future for the Oakland Raiders, but right now he’s crap, dog crap to be specific. After a 3-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Pryor summed up his performance with refreshing candor, or at least as much as you can with his reference.
“I just think I played like dog crap,” he said according to Paul Gutierrez of CSNBayArea.com, via Profootballtalk...
Yes, J.R. Ewing brought his drama back to Dallas this season on TNT. Still, I don't think it will match the drama coming out of Cowboys Stadium this year. Why?
Kyle Orton specializes in drama and he is the new backup quarterback to Tony Romo.
You may remember Orton got caught up in the "Guiding Tebow Light" drama last season with the Denver Broncos.
After a mediocre...
OXNARD, Calif. Jason Wittens spleen injury has the Dallas Cowboys scrambling for help at the tight end position while also hoping the All-Pros recovery does not impact his availability for the teams regular-season opener on Wednesday, Sept. 4 against the Giants.
In Monday's preseason game at Oakland, the star tight end caught a short pass from pressured quarterback Tony Romo...
Jeff Demps the Olympic sprinter and former RB for the Florida Gators has announced he is ready to get back to Football and the Raiders are in need of adding another running back with all the injuries that are piling up. Jeff Demps played for the Florida Gators for four years as a change of [...]
Oakland Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor finally gets his chance to play after sitting out his entire rookie season, with the exception being thrown in on a 3rd and 1 for QB sneak against the Chiefs last October.
Head coach Dennis Allen says Pryor will get plenty of snaps tonight behind Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart as they host a preseason matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, and he’s...
The long anticipated return to live action for the Oakland Raiders ended in a 3-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football in their preseason opener. The score in preseason games matter little because the starters and contributors play very little. The Raiders were able to get a look at the players on the roster and evaluate the strength and weaknesses.
The competition for the No. 3 receiver role has been one of the most highly contested and closely watched battles throughout Cowboys training camp.
Going into their first preseason game against the Oakland Raiders, the leader of the competition was Kevin Ogletree who was followed closely by training camp stud Cole Beasley.
Other receivers competing for the spot were Andre Holmes...
The Dallas Cowboys open their preseason tomorrow night at Oakland. It makes some sense to head over to DallasCowboys.com for the latest team news.
However, if you visited there at 12:20 a.m. Central time, you would have discovered that the Chicago Bears had taken over the entire site. Here’s a look:
Visit DallasCowboys.com to see the official website of the Chicago Bears...
Oakland Raiders receiver and returner Jacoby Ford has been ruled out for Monday night's game against San Diego because of a sprained left foot.
Ford hasn't practiced or played since being injured Aug. 17 in a preseason game at Arizona. Ford, who missed six games with a sprained left foot last season, hasn't run on the field since his latest foot injury.
With week one of the preseason in the books, the Oakland Raiders have answered a few questions and raised a few more. The most notable improvement was on the defensive side of the ball where both the first team run defense and pass rush have vastly improved. Offensively, however, the Raiders struggled.
Coach Allen went on to state: I think there are obviously some positives...
Darren McFadden needed one series to show he's in midseason form for Oakland following a foot injury that cut his last season short.
Most of the rest of the first-team offensive players for the Raiders and Dallas Cowboys need plenty of work to get back to that level.
McFadden picked up where he left off last season by gaining 38 yards on Oakland's first three plays of the...
