It’s Christmas!  Merry holidays to all and good will to Cubs fans everywhere.  Our favorite team has certainly been busy, and for the transactions that have transpired before the holiday, please check out our previous blogs and also feel free to use the internet: I love this gif. As we finish our last-minute shopping, wrap the final presents to be placed under the tree and attend holiday services and parties, wishing you a fun and safe Christmas and best of times with your loved ones.  Here’s another parody for your viewing pleasure… Cubbies’ Christmas     to the tune of   “Snoopy’s Christmas” by the Royal Guardsmen     The Cubs had finished year one-oh-four They hadn’t been back since the Second World War The plan was in place to put that to an end And they called on Jed Hoyer to do it again   ‘Twas the night before Christmas, wouldn’t you know Jed was still working to one-up his foes Acquiring pitching, and pitching he got With ice in his veins some more pieces were bought   New contracts, no no-trade clause Rebuilding the farm Plugging pieces into holes No shortage of arms   St. Louis and Cincy right in his sights Milwaukee and Pittsburgh would put up a fight Houston had moved, ’twas a much tougher go Jed had lots of support from Tom and Theo   New contracts, no no-trade clause Rebuilding the farm Plugging pieces into holes No shortage of arms   The prospects were working their way up the chain Jed Hoyer, our hero, was working the trades Incredible work for a club on the mend In the hopes that the Cubs will be in first once again   By smartly drafting and shrewd midseason flips Jed Hoyer would book some more October trips After working so hard for over a year Yearly contention hopefully draws near   New contracts, no no-trade clause Rebuilding the farm Plugging pieces into holes No shortage of arms   New contracts, no no-trade clause Rebuilding the farm Plugging pieces into holes No shortage of arms
