Fox Sports Florida:
MIAMI Big brother is concerned.
When Milwaukee Bucks center Samuel Dalembert heard his younger sister, Melissa Dalembert, is going to play this summer for the Miami Spice in the first-year Bikini Basketball Association, he didnt like it.
I told her, 'Dont do that,' Samuel Dalembert told FOX Sports Florida while calling the league nonsense. "But, hey shes grown up. So shes doing it.
The Spice announced last week that Melissa Dalembert, currently a professional in Germany after having played at Miramar (Fla.) High School and at the University of South Florida, would be joining the team. The Spice begins play in the five-team league with a June 22 game at the Illinois Heart.
First of all, I dont know if its serious, and I think theyre just doing it for the show, said Samuel Dalembert, 31, whose Bucks are playing the Miami Heat in an Eastern Conference first-round series. I dont think its for the sport, and I told her that. Hey, if it was something that had been around and had been professional (Samuel would have no problem with her playing). But doing this nonsense when she already has a contract (in Germany)?
Reached by email, Melissa, 26, declined to comment on her brother not wanting her to play.
Winning this championship, she wrote about what she is now concerned about with her team in Germany. After this, when I come home at the end of May, I can answer any questions you want.
Melissa is averaging 3.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in 13.7 minutes for TSV 1880 Wasserburg in Germany.
The Bikini Basketball Association also includes the Houston Inferno, Las Vegas Fantasy and Philadelphia Diamonds. Rather than an actual bikini, women will play in a sports bra and tight shorts.
The leagues website says women were selected based on athleticism, personality, as well as beauty. The combination of these traits will help the BBA athletes stand out in their respective communities. Each team will feature between 14 to 21 talented female athletes on their rosters. Prepare for one of the sexiest and most exciting new associations.
None of that impresses Samuel Dalembert.
Sometimes I give her my opinion as a businessman and also as a brother and an outsider, but its up to her to make the decision, he said. Shes really good. Shes been playing the last couple of years overseas. But she makes her own choice.
Big brother was asked delicately about how her sister will look playing basketball in a skimpy outfit.
Youll find out. But those things are never really a serious thing, he said of the Bikini Basketball Association.

We all know that Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade can soar for some pretty incredible dunks but this slam in game two of Tuesday night’s Heat/Bucks affair in pretty darn impressive. The dunk happened in the third quarter of play as Mario Chalmers missed a jump shot but Wade was able to collect the miss for the slam: Looking for another awesome Wade slam during the same game? We have...
We all heard the ridiculous prediction by Brandon Jennings that the sub .500 ball club that is the Milwaukee Bucks would unseat the defending NBA champions in six games. Dwyane Wade had a hilarious gif of a reaction to hearing this claim:
I have no problem talking a big game but you have to step up your play to match your trash but you can't put up 8 points...
I’m not judging. I’m just pointing out that LeBron James wears the same type of pants that your wife or girlfriend (or both) does. LeBron took some time to pose for this picture (which was posted to his Facebook page) after the Heat’s Game Two win.
Like I said, I’m not judging. But those pants look much much much better on my wife.
After the Miami Heat’s game one victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, LeBron James wore a bizarre sweater to the post game press conference. I guess if you’re the best basketball player in the world you can do stuff like this, but it can’t be recommended. I hope his teammates gave him a lot of grief for wearing this hideous thing.
Miami Heat forward Shane Battier had a superstition to drink one Bud Light before every one of the team's 27 consecutive wins, so Bud Light hooked him up with a truckload of free beer, literally.
After beating the two during a 3-point contest at practice, LeBron 'Drill Sergeant' James made Ray Allen and Mario Chalmers do 20 pushups each.
MIAMI LeBron James is in full playoff mode. Well, maybe.
The Miami Heat star said he has given up his cell phone to concentrate on the playoffs. But such a task can be tough in this era.
Sideline reporter Craig Sager interviewed James for NBA TV following Tuesdays Game 2 against Milwaukee. He asked James about cutting off communication during the playoffs.
I can use yours? James...
To put into context the challenge any team faces in a seven-game series, just take a gander at Miami's regular season results. The Heat lost just four times in their last 41 games dating back to Jan. 27 - with one of those losses coming without LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Any team that plans on knocking out the defending NBA champions must find a way to beat them four times...
According to the hip kids on my street that I pay to not steal my packages from Amazon, singer and woman who has voluntarily dated Chris Brown multiple times, Rihanna, recently canceled some of her concerts on her latest tour because she hasn’t been feeling well. However, as I have dabbled in garage medical practice in the past, the best cure for pop singer fatigue has always been...
While the Heat are running through the Bucks, Dwyane Wade would like to remind everyone that this old man still has plenty of juice and hops in the tank. Duly noted, Dwyane.
