Justin ArbogastIt’s been quite a fun time in the last few days for those of you that follow the NFL’s 32 teams on Twitter. Before the Bengals’ 19-13 playoff loss to the Houston Texans, the team’s official Twitter set off a little friendly trash talk towards the opposing team. It’s not something you see every day from media outlets who usually keep their tweets on the professional side of things. Earlier today, the Dallas Cowboys Twitter page sent some trash talk to other professional sports leagues. DallasCowboys.com staff writer Josh Ellis was getting pumped for baseball season, but then someone, using the team’s official account, chose to knock out two birds with one stone, dissing the MLB and the NHL.   To no surprise, the tweet was deleted a few moments after it was sent. If I had to take a wild guess, the shots fired from the Cowboys Twitter page could have come from Cowboys digital media director Derek Eagleton, who sent out this eerily similar tweet today from his personal Twitter account.   Similarly, in the category of news-nobody-cares-about, the NHL is back! RT @josh_ellis11: Just 6 weeks til pitchers and catchers, everybody. — Derek Eagleton (@derekeagleton) January 7, 2013   The lack of adoration for other Texas sports teams is somewhat surprising. The MLB’s Texas Rangers have had great success lately, making the World Series in 2010 and 2011 and then losing the first AL Wild Card Game last year. They have lost a lot of talent in CJ Wilson and Josh Hamilton, but it’s still a solid team. The NHL’s Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup following the 1998-99 season and have a good mix of youth and veteran leadership going into the shortened 2013 season. Seeing as how the Cowboys haven’t won or made it to a Super Bowl since 1995, they’re little brothers to their neighboring teams in terms of recent championship pedigree. So what’s the moral of this story? Social media outlets are very powerful tools in today’s world. They should be used responsibly, especially when you’re representing an organization as big as the Dallas Cowboys.   Follow us on Twitter @RealSportsKings Sports-Kings Columnist – Joe Ray @Jpray_SK Sports-Kings - The Kings of Sports Lists

Jimmy Johnson divorced his wife to coach the Cowboys

While recounting her most memorable interviews over the past 20 years,  Cheryl Hall of the Dallas Morning News remembers an interview she did with former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson. It didn’t take long to peg his management-by-objective style. He saw himself as a motivator, a strategic planner and a manager willing to make tough decisions and act on them. “Above...

The Dallas Stars Fire Back To Trolling Dallas Cowboys Twitter, Tony Romo Gets The Worst Of It

It seems like the Dallas Stars are making a run at the LA Kings for best Twitter account of 2013. For some unknown reason the official Dallas Cowboys Twitter account took the following shot at the NHL. The Tweet, which was deleted shortly thereafter, essentially slammed baseball and NHL in one sarcastic Tweet. The blindside Tweet was out of the blue, and the Dallas Stars weren...

Reports: Cowboys fire Rob Ryan

The Dallas Cowboys' failure to make the playoffs cost Rob Ryan his job, as the defensive coordinator was fired Tuesday, according to multiple media reports. "I inherited a team that was 31st in the league in defense and made them better. I (expletive) made them a hell of a lot better. I'll be out of work for like five minutes," Ryan told ESPNDallas. The Cowboys...

Why did Jerry Jones fire Rob Ryan?

Well, see ya later Why did Jerry Jones fire Rob Ryan? After the season was over, Jones famously said that things were going to be uncomfortable around Valley Ranch. He promised, in so many words, significant change. But why Rob Ryan? Sure, the defense was porous and played poorly. But Ryan had to assemble a team that excluded as many as seven of his starters. The team’s top tackler...

Another Reason To Hate The Cowboys: @DallasCowboys Gets Butthurt, Runs Down The NHL, MLB

"It's okay, Tony, your terrible football will be back soon."Remember Chris Rock’s old joke about guys turning into Batman when it’s time to watch porn, then getting caught because they left the tape in the VCR? The Twitter equivalent of porn in the VCR is “forgetting to log out of your business account before you say something stupid.”Something stupid:In one...

Jerry Jones makes first big move after vow

Apparently when Jerry Jones vowed last week to make things uncomfortable at Valley Ranch, he wasn't kidding. Running backs coach Skip Peete was the first man overboard Monday, but the Cowboys followed that by firing defensive coordinator Rob Ryan on Tuesday. With his next firing, Jones could aim even higher. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that head coach Jason Garrett...

Cowboys fire Rob Ryan

The Dallas Cowboys have fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Ryan’s firing was not entirely unexpected as team owner Jerry Jones promised to make things “very uncomfortable for the next few weeks and months at Valley Ranch.” Ryan had served as the Cowboys defensive coordinator for the last two seasons. He had one year left on his contract. “I inherited a team that was 31st...

Rob Ryan Dismissed, who replaces him?

The Cowboys fired another assistant coach, and this time its defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. This is a move that I wanted to see happen, and one that needed to happen. Fact is, Ryan talked too much and couldn’t back it up, nor did he he ever elevate the defense to a top flight defense. Its funny to hear that his defense was exotic and aggressive – it was not. How many times did...

Rob Ryan And His Econoline Van Are Out Of Dallas

It’s not every coordinator firing that KSK bothers to cover, but not every coordinator is Rob Ryan, a man who never stopped rocking, being real or doing eightballs in the first seat of his 1999 Ford Econoline conversion van. This off-season, both Ryan brothers were almost out of jobs, which would have left this a much poorer league for the sake of depravity. That might sit well...
