FOXBORO, Mass. — After catching six passes for 71 yards against the Buccaneers on Friday night, Danny Amendola was not out at the start of Monday’s practice.
Amendola did not appear to suffer any injuries during Friday night’s game and stayed on the sideline throughout. He has been one of the Patriots’ best offensive players throughout the summer.
Along with Amendola, Mark Harrison, Rob Gronkowski, Brandon Jones, Rob Gronkowski, Jermaine Cunningham and Armond Armstead were not out on the practice field. Marcus Cannon, Alfonzo Dennard, Ras-I Dowling and Daniel Fells were spotted at the beginning of practice with pads on, but they did not participate in drills. Dan Connolly and Markus Zusevics did not play in Friday’s game, but they did participate in practice.
Devin McCourty was not wearing his red non-contact jersey. That’s the second time he has shed the red jersey this summer. The first time came in a non-padded scrimmage. That may be a good sign that McCourty could play Thursday ...

FOXBORO, Mass. — With Danny Amendola out of practice for two straight days, it’s looking more and more like Tom Brady won’t have his new favorite target to throw to Thursday against the Lions.
If Amendola has to sit, it will give added opportunities to rookies Kenbrell Thompkins, Josh Boyce and Aaron Dobson and veteran Julian Edleman. Edelman hasn’t been playing much with...
Wes Welker and Danny Amendola have several things in common, and one of those is their respective Average Draft Positions. At ESPN, Welker is currently the 11th wide receiver drafted and Amendola the 17th, but at Fantasy Football Calculator both players have an ADP of 45. With the departure of Wes Welker, Tom Brady was in need of a go-to receiver and it looks like he has found that in Danny Amendola.
The two have shown great chemistry in the two preseason games, and as much as people want to compare the two receivers, it may be time to move on to the new era of Patriots football. Amendola is not Welker, but WEEI’s Mike Salk argues that he may be...

As Wes Welker's replacement, 100 catches are certainly possible for Amendola if he can stay healthy.
