PLAYERS: David Ortiz
TEAMS: Boston Red Sox
I’m sure you all remember this clip of David Ortiz proclaiming “this is our f**king city!” before the first game at Fenway following the Marathon bombings, but just in case you may not have seen the tweet from the FCC in response to the famous f-bomb: David Ortiz spoke from the heart at today’s Red Sox game. I stand with Big Papi and the people of Boston – Julius — The FCC (@FCC) April 20, 2013 Before today’s Red Sox game at Fenway, David Ortiz met with the man who sent out that tweet, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, and his family. The Red Sox official Twitter account sent out the above picture of the meeting, another nice feel-good moment in the wake of the terrible tragedy this season. It’s also pretty hilarious that Papi was wearing his “Famous as F**k” shirt while meeting the chairman of the FCC. David Ortiz “Famous as F**K” t-shirt

David Ortiz really likes the F-word, we guess? Ortiz dropped a F-bomb in response to the Boston Marathon bombing and was sporting a t-shirt that read “Famous as F**K” after hitting a walk off home run on Thursday night against Texas. The t-shirt may not have been the best idea but considering Ortiz is hitting .325/.399/.624 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI there does not figure...

Ortiz’s home run off Angels reliever Jerome Williams, which extended Boston’s lead to 7-2, was about more than just putting the game out of reach, though. It was an absolute moon shot, further...

David Ortiz Thought Red Sox Signing Josh Hamilton ‘Was Going to Happen,’ Especially After Trade With Dodgers

The Red Sox brought in a number of free agents during the offseason. Josh Hamilton wasn’t one of them. Hamilton, considered the biggest offensive free agent on the open market this past offseason, ended up signing with the Angels, but it wasn’t before tons of speculation about whether or not the 2010 American League MVP would land in Boston. Even David Ortiz thought there was...

David Ortiz Unsure If He Would Participate in Home Run Derby, While Mike Napoli ‘Wouldn’t Enjoy’ Being in Contest

Participating in the Home Run Derby is often a risky endeavor. It’s all about thrilling the fans, but there have been multiple instances of players struggling after taking part in the midsummer long ball contest.
