While many fans looked for freshmen names like Quay Evans and Nick James on the back of Mississippi State uniforms last season, one freshman name showed up so much that it had many going back to research the high school highlight tapes. Mississippi State first sent one recruit a can of swag and has now sent another, Drew Baker, 102 letters.
“It feels more like bowl prep than spring ball,” Dan Mullen commented. The coach certainly had a point, with the (alleged) 50 degrees and light drizzle his Bulldogs had just finished practicing in. Not that anyone complained. “It was kind of fun,” said Benardrick McKinney. “We stayed juiced-up out there.”
