DeMarcus Ware can flourish in just about any system, but when he says that former defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was one of the best coaches he’s ever played for, that’s a high compliment.
Ryan was let go at the end of the season as Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett stated they were looking for a more sound defensive philosophy. However, the defensive players were upset over the firing, feeling it was more public relations, and that Ryan had coached circles around Garrett.
Ware was a main beneficiary of the Ryan defensive scheme that would turn him loose after the quarterback. Ware spoke about Ryan and what he did for him in Dallas.
"He was one of the best coaches I've ever played for, really teaching me how to play and think like a linebacker," Ware said Thursday. "I had to go in there and know all the drops the inside backers would have and I had to know all the formations, knowing the skill of the game, he really taught me that a lot," via Calvin Watkins...
