Erick Green, the Denver Nuggets No. 46 draft pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, impressed in his Euroleague debut with Montepaschi Siena by putting up 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-7 3pt), two rebounds and two assists against Galatasary Liv Hospital Istanbul.
The former Virgina Tech Hokie signed with Siena on July 30. Green barely missed the Nuggets roster. He lost the final roster spot to Timofey Mozgov whom the Nuggets re-signed on July 26th.
The Nuggets got their first look at Green during the 2013 NBA Summer league. Green consistently scored 9.1 points (44 percent from 3pt) in 21 minutes through four games. The sharpshooter also only gave up one turnover per game.
The biggest aspects of Green’s game that needed improvement were his defense and passing. Green is an undersized NBA shooting guard at just six-foot-four. The 2-guard had never played at the point before summer league.
Green has promise to improve under Siena coach Marco Crespi. Crespi has gained recognition as a fantastic international coach working with a multiple teams across Europe. On another level, in 2004, Crespi was the Director for International Scouting for the Boston Celtics.
In his last year at VT, Green lead the NCAA in scoring (25 ppg) and nabbed 2013 ACC Player of The Year honors. He also scored the most points by a Hokie by netting 801 points in 2012-13.
The Nuggets have retained the rights to Green, and can sign him to a deal after his one-year deal expires at the end of May. With Andre Miller’s time as a Nuggets guard appears to be at a close, look for the Nuggets to give Green a deal during the 2014 NBA offseason.
(Green, number 32, hits 3 at end of the first quarter)

The Denver Nuggets signed 2-guard Randy Foye from the Utah Jazz just five days after Andre “benedict” Iguodala jumped ship for the Golden State Warriors this past July.
At first, it appeared that the Nuggets signed Foye as a desperation move to replace Iguodala. However, after three preseason games it appears Foye could put in good minutes for the Nuggets...
With the departures of George Karl and Masai Ujiri this offseason, Josh Kroenke has taken the Denver Nuggets in the direction of a more modern front office.

Given his track record shooting 3-point shots Randy Foye's first three games with the Nuggets are the exception to his normally sharpshooting rule.
But he's in no way worried about it.
Signed during the offseason to a three-year contract to bolster the Nuggets' 3-point shooting Foye has started slowly. In four exhibition games he's averaging 7.7 points on 40.7 percent...
Even for the always smiling joking Timofey Mozgov last season became a drag. He wanted to play and thought he was headed toward more playing time yet down the stretch he was forced to accept that his view of most Nuggets games would be from the bench.
Mozgov got swept up in a numbers game at center. Kosta Koufos was the starter. JaVale McGee got the backup center minutes. Mozgov...
The Nuggets can’t afford to lose anybody else. Gallinari is going to miss significant time due to rehab, Andre Iguodala and George Karl left in the off-season. Considering all them factors, it’s essential for Kenneth Faried to take his game to new heights but he must be on the court to do so. #Nuggets F […]
