MLB Injury News:
There was clear excitement surrounding Adam Eaton coming into this season. As Ive mentioned before, the Arizona Diamondbacks were likely more comfortable parting ways with Chris Young and Justin Upton knowing they had Eaton. Unfortunately, Eaton was injured and had not played a game until last night. Prior to the game, the team got some good news.

Eaton, a 24-year old rookie with just over 100 plate appearances under his belt, returned to action last night, but couldn't help the Diamondbacks to victory. Arizona fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-1, and Eaton went 0 for 4. But there are big things in store for Eaton in the future.
Last season, Eaton burst onto the season with a decent bat and a great glove. He also showed off his speed in the outfield. Eaton quickly earned the centerfield job and played 21 of his 22 games there last year. In those 22 games, Eaton hit .259/.382/.412. The Diamondbacks are hoping he can improve upon those offensive numbers.
During spring training, Eaton was diagnosed with a left UCL strain. He was apparently very close to requiring Tommy John surgery, but Eaton went through rehab and was eventually able to come back. But not without setbacks. Numerous setbacks kept the young outfielder out until now.

The Diamondbacks shuffled their pitching staff Thursday, optioning starter Tyler Skaggs to Single-A Visalia and calling up lefty reliever Eury De La Rosa from Triple-A Reno.
Skaggs had a somewhat disappointing outing against the Dodgers on Wednesday night, allowing three runs and 11 base runners in 4 13 innings before leaving with the bases loaded. That came after a dominant start...
PHOENIX -- Kirk Gibson has seen enough.
After the Diamondbacks' bullpen blew its major league-leading 19th save opportunity in a 7-5, 14-inning loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday, Gibson made it clear that things must change in the late innings.

Yesterday it was reported that Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Trevor Cahill recently suffered a setback in his recovery from a right hip contusion. It wasn't his hip giving him issues, but instead Cahill was suffering from tightness in his shoulder while throwing a few days ago. The right-hander was able to play catch yesterday, and he told Steve Gilbert of MLB.com that his...

There’s aggressiveness on the basepaths, then there’s forcing a play. During the Dodgers’ 6-1 win over the Diamondbacks in Arizona, Yasiel Puig demonstrated the latter.
In the top of the fifth inning, Adrian Gonzalez came to the plate with the bases loaded, driving a long fly ball to straightaway center field. The runners had to freeze as Arizona center fielder Adam Eaton tracked...
PHOENIX -- Kirk Gibson sees a lot of his younger self in rambunctious, sometimes reckless Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig.
"That's refreshing to watch," said Gibson, the Diamondbacks manager.

Heading into tonight’s contest, Zack Greinke had struggled against the D-Backs for his entire big league career. You wouldn’t have never known with how well he threw on Monday night though.
Well, you can say this about the Heath Bell Experience. At least there’s never a dull moment when he’s on the mound. Staked with a one-run lead in the ninth, Bell found a new way to blow a save.
