Notre Dame star defensive tackle Louis Nix has toyed with Irish fans all season about whether he’ll be returning for his final year of eligibility on campus or moving on to an NFL career. Thursday night, he may have let his true intentions slip. Nix, who will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his meniscus, dropped a quote Thursday night that seems to imply that he’s played his final game in an Irish uniform. Nix says it hurts that his dad — who is coming up Saturday — will never get to see him play at #NotreDame. — Andrew Owens (@BGI_AndrewOwens) November 21, 2013 (That seems to indicate he won’t be coming back in 2014.) — Andrew Owens (@BGI_AndrewOwens) November 21, 2013 Granted, Nix did go on to clarify that he hasn’t made his final decision. He also said he’s more interested in watching a television show… Nix said he has not decided whether or not he will declare for the NFL Draft. More focused on watching Breaking Bad right now. — Andrew Owens (@BGI_AndrewOwens) November 21, 2013 It’s hard to be 100% certain either way here, but it’s hard to see Nix coming back. Nix graduates in December and is projected by many to be a first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. We’ll find out soon.
