By Jaclyn Stacey (January 20, 2013) MELBOURNE PARK, Australia – The Australian Open produced it’s greatest match of 2013 and one of the best in recent times as Novak Djokovic triumphed over Stanislas Wawrinka in a five hour and three minute thriller on Rod Laver Arena that ended just after 1.30am on Monday morning.   The 1-6, 7-5, 6-4,,6-7(5), 12-10 epic was an incredible demonstration of tennis at its best, Wawrinka playing the match of his life and blitzing forehand and backhand winners all over the court while Djokovic proved why he is number one in the world, fighting back from a set and 2-5 down to claw his way to victory.   “I’m very glad to be a winner of another marathon,” Djokovic said after the match. He won the 2012 final against Rafael Nadal in an epic five setter that lasted just shy of six hours and ended in the early hours of the Monday morning.   The match proved to be a war of attrition and it seemed unfair that either player should lose, having poured all of their ...

Novak Djokovic nearly hits ballboy in the head at Australian Open (Video)

Top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic nearly hit a ballboy in the side of the head with a return of a serve from Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka in Sunday's fourth round Australian Open match. It appears that the ballboy at the side of the net was able to turn his head at the last second and the ball deflected off the bill on the side of his cap. We're guessing...

Novak Djokovic Nails Ballkid In The Head With Return

Novak Djokovic took down Stan Wawrinka this weekend in a fairly incredible five-set match, and during the same match he also took down a ballkid. Check out the below video of Novak returning a serve, but the shot goes far right and nailed a ballkid in the head. The poor ballkid was in the crouch position and so focused on his job that he didn’t have the proper time to react...

HEAD's new Graphene Speed (vs. an Audi R8 LMS GT3)

Novak Djokovic's newest weapon has been unveiled. In December I had a chance to check out a new HEAD tennis racquet that was fully disguised in black and labeled only G. Here's how it looked back then in stealth mode, and here's how it looks today as the HEAD Graphene Speed. Great racquet. I have had a lot of fun with it. The one in my pic is the Rev model, $190. Djokovic...

It happened in the second set as Stepanek approached the net and hit a poor volley to Djokovic. As Stepanek had no chance of stopping a forehand slam by Djokovic...

Novak Djokovic: Lance Armstrong is a ‘disgrace’ to his sport, should suffer for lies

Lance Armstrong has decided he finally feels like admitting what we have all known to be true for many years — he’s a cheater. He seems to think that by coming clean in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that he can begin the process of being forgiven, but it’s hardly that simple. Armstrong lied for years. He pressured his teammates into doping. He threatened those who refused...

Who Looked Good, Bad: Wawrinka, Berdych, Seppi

Andreas Seppi By Yeshayahu Ginsburg We are down to our final 8, and 6 of them are the main contenders for the title. With Djokovic being tired after his marathon match, it has really opened the door for Tomas Berdych. And, all of a sudden, we could be looking at Berdych or David Ferrer in the final. On the other side of the draw, it looks like it will be the winner of Federer/Tsonga...
