Doc Rivers jokes about Bobby Valentine

Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers and former Sox manager Terry Francona were tight. They still talk. But Tito's gone and Bobby Valentine is here now.

Doc was asked at a news conference today about his relationship. And he said

I got to meet him back when I was with the Knicks a thousand years ago. We used to live in the same neighborhood in Stamford. I went to go eat at "Bobby V's" a lot. One thing I can tell you is he doesn't comp (laughing)... with him you had to pay

So if Bobby opens a place in Boston, athletes better get ready to open up their wallets. No free rides with Bobby V.

Then again, if anyone should pay for anything its rich pro athletes. And if there's any team in the world that needs a "no free rides" attitude, its this Red Sox team. Bobby's putting his foot down.

So from now on, they're going to have to PAY for their in-game clubhouse beers. AND.. they're going to have to pay Fenway prices.

THAT will put a stop to that little game. Way to go, Bobby.
