I have a hard time pretending to care about “Doctor Who,” but I would never denigrate the show because Anglophile sci-fi geeks are some of the most annoying humans on the planet. (“Um, you can’t write ‘Dr. Who’ because he’s just The Doctor, therefore making it his name, not a title.” DIE.) So the tweed-wearing geeks will be happy to hear that the new season has an American premiere date: April 23.
The premiere description has the Brit team filming in North America for the first time: “The Doctor (Matt Smith), and his companions Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill), find themselves on a secret summons that takes them on an adventure from the desert in Utah — right to the Oval Office in 1969.” [EW]
And you can bet trouble will come knocking on their door. Wait, no — those are just Mormons.
Anyhoo, the banner image is the first art for the new season, and OH MY GOD! It actually looks like that might be Utah! Oooh, I hope they spend an episode in Moab. Really great mountain biking there.
