The last name printed on the back of the aqua jersey that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handed the No. 8 pick in Thursday night's draft was "Tannehill." It may as well have read "Hope." There was none in South Florida this offseason when it came to the Miami Dolphins. A once-proud franchise had become a disaster under general manager Jeff Ireland's leadership and Stephen Ross' bumbling ownership. The quarterback position is symbolic of how far the club has fallen. The first round of the 2012 NFL Draft came and went Thursday night, and as always, all eyes were on the quarterbacks. Sherman on Tannehill

Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman obviously knows Ryan Tannehill better than anybody else associated with the team, having coached him at Texas A&M the last four years. So it only made sense that he was asked to offer his thoughts after the Dolphins made Tannehill their first-round pick Thursday night.

Tannehill Reunites with Sherman In Miami

The Miami Dolphins reunited Mike Sherman with his QB pupil when they selected Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill with the No. 8 pick in the draft. While analysts feel the rookie will sit and watch for at least two seasons, Aggie Websider's David Sandhop thinks otherwise.

Why Ryan Tannehill WILL be a Miami Dolphin After Tonight

At first, I was stared at like a dog who had just been shown a card trick. I kept referencing the 2011 NFL Draft that had seen guys like Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert and Christian Ponder go in the top fifteen. Yet whenever I said that Ryan Tannehill would be a top ten pick in this year’s draft back in January, everyone shook their head at me.  But now? Well, now just about every...

The New England Patriots will have two first-round picks in the upcoming NFLdraft, which probably makes a lot of AFC teams nervous. 2012 NFL Draft - Draft Position - Ryan Tannehill (QB Texas A&M) Over 8 -150 Under 8 -110 If the Patriots stay in their spots at 27th and 31st, there's a great chance they'll be adding two quality players –- if not starters -- to a team...

Dolphins, Browns had little choice but to gamble on new quarterback projects

For only the fifth time in NFL history, quarterbacks were selected with the first two picks of last night's draft. And as a result of the hype surrounding Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, the draft's next-best quarterbacks, Ryan Tannehill from Texas A&M and Brandon Weeden from Oklahoma State, saw their respective stocks rise artificially. So sure, the Miami Dolphins...
