TEAMS: Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Miami Dolphins waived veteran receiver Jabar Gaffney on Tuesday to make room for a rookie tight end who has played in one NFL game.
Gaffney, who was sidelined during Thursday nights 19-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills because of a knee injury, caught four passes for 68 yards in the three games he played for Miami.
His roster spot was used to add tight end Kyle Miller, whom the team claimed off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday evening. Miller, who spent training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars, played in one game for the Colts.
The rookie, who caught 62 passes for 872 yards and seven touchdowns during his senior season at Mount Union, becomes the fifth tight end on Miami's active roster. Source: Sun-Sentinel Attached Thumbnails

Reggie Bush's days might be numbered in Miami
Not too long ago the Miami Dolphins were faced with the prospects of signing their running back and former 2005 first round pick, Ronnie Brown.
Forced to fill a void that was inevitable with the lack of productivity in Brown’s final season, the Dolphins got overly aggressive at the start of the offseason after the lockout with a trade for Reggie Bush. A name...

According to Dee, the new Miami Dolphins logo has been seen by 3 former players of the Miami Dolphins – Dan...
What’s wrong with the Miami Dolphins?
The Miami Dolphins are currently riding a 3 game losing streak that has made their hopes of the playoffs as likely as me finally getting that date with Mila Kunis. It’s not impossible, but it’s not going to happy for our Dolphins. The Dolphins season got off to a rocky 1-3 start and then the team rebounded to win 3 straight games to improve to 4-3. Unfortunately, they couldn’t...
Marcus Thigpen ignites Dolphins return game
DAVIE, Fla. Reality has set in for the Miami Dolphins, who are 4-6 and riding a three-game losing streak.
Barring a miracle turnaround, this season will not be about fighting for a playoff berth in Year No. 1 under Joe Philbin. Its about building a foundation and finding players who can make a difference.
Enter Marcus Thigpen.
The former Indiana running back already has found...

Pitiful Picks: Thanksgiving Day Style!
The Miami Dolphins coaching staff rearranged the Dolphins practice schedule this week to give the players off for Thanksgiving. The Dolphins practiced on Tuesday, a day that they are usually off, so that they could spend Thanksgiving with their families. Hopefully, the Dolphins coaches ‘family’ approach will pay off as they continue preparations for the Seahawks tomorrow...
Dolphins Division: Dolphins slide continues, Pats off and running
The Miami Dolphins were once 4-3, but that was a long time ago my friends. The Dolphins currently sit at 4-6 and are now 3 games behind the Patriots in the AFC East. The rest of the division isn’t doing much better, since the Bills and Jets are tied with the Dolphins for 2nd (and last) place. Since all 4 teams were tied at 3-3, the Pats have gone 4-0, with the rest of the...
Despite slump, Dolphins to get Thanksgiving off
A day off for an NFL team 72 hours before kickoff is rare, especially when that team has lost three games in a row. But Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin is giving his players Thanksgiving off.
The team will practice daily through Wednesday, then reconvene Friday to finish preparations for Sunday's game against Seattle. Philbin says the unusual break for the holiday is possible...
Dolphins need to get ground game going
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- The Miami Dolphins' offense has stalled, and the long list of reasons includes too many turnovers, not enough big plays and too many rookie moments by quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
So what bugs offensive coordinator Mike Sherman the most? None of the above.
"Aw, just the run game," Sherman said Monday. "Everything jells around the run game....
Carroll and Bush meet again as Seattle faces Miami
When Reggie Bush got his chance to face Pete Carroll in the NFC playoffs two seasons ago, he couldn't wait. It was the opportunity to show off before his former college coach when injuries in the New Orleans backfield left Bush as the featured back.
Then Bush carried the ball just five times and was left watching Carroll celebrate the Seahawks' upset victory of the then...
Seattle Seahawks vs Miami Dolphins: Battle Of The Rookie Quarterbacks
When the Miami Dolphins selected Ryan Tannehill with the 8th pick of this year’s draft, they didn’t expect him to be their starting quarterback, at least not this year. The prevailing theory was that he would sit on the bench this year and start next year. Tannehill obviously didn’t get that memo; he went out and grabbed the starting job before the first game of the season...
Dolphins Sign Free Agent OG Ryan Durand
The Miami Dolphins are beefing up the offensive line heading into Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Miami signed offensive guard Ryan Durand to the 53-man roster on Tuesday, making this three-year starter at Syracuse the ninth offensive lineman and fifth guard on the active roster.
Durand spent the past four years on and off the Titans active roster and practice...
Leon Lett remains football’s biggest turkey
Leon Lett was part of three Dallas Cowbo Super Bow teams. Lett was a two time pro bowl player. Yet, the most memorable plays of his career are blunders.
The most memorable play of Lett’s career happened in a game against the Miami Dolphins in 1993.That day the Texas Stadium was covered with snow and sleet as a rare storm pounded the area. Dallas led 14-13 with 15 seconds left...
