The Miami Dolphins have recently worked out free agent wide receiver Jabar Gaffney.

Gaffney has been a free agent after being released by the New England Patriots. He was hoping to hold out to re-sign with the Patriots once his injury is fully healed.

He has been dealing with a thigh injury. However, the trade by the Patriots for Greg Salas likely closed that door on Gaffney returning to the team, so he is looking for work elsewhere.

Gaffney could sign with the Dolphins in the coming days. He is a good possession receiver; however, the Dolphins already have Davone Bess as a possession receiver.

Patriots trade for wide receiver Greg Salas

The Patriots traded a late 2015 round pick to St. Louis for wide receiver Greg Salas. The trade gives the Patriots the depth they needed after releasing veteran wide receivers Deion Branch, Donte Stallworth and Jabar Gaffney. Last season the rookie out of Hawaii was showing signs of promise before he broke his leg halfway through the season, catching 27 balls for 264 yards. Hopefully...

NFL Rumors: Drew Rosenhaus Expects Miami Dolphins To Sign Jabar Gaffney Or Donte Stallworth Soon

The New England Patriots released a trio of wide receivers this past week in Deion Branch, Jabar Gaffney and Donte Stallworth.
