Milwaukee Brewers' pitcher Donovan Hand threw lightly on Wednesday, a day after being hit by a pitch on his throwing hand.  Although his hand is sore, Hand expects to make his next start. As reported by Adam McCalvy and Kevin Massoth of MLB.com, "Hand took a third-inning Tyson Ross fastball to his hand while squaring around to bunt Tuesday and departed after throwing four innings because he could not grip the ball the way he wanted to -- something he said improved a bit Wednesday." "The Brewers said X-rays were negative and that Hand was day to day after the game, but Hand was encouraged by his light throwing session. His next start is scheduled for Sunday at Colorado." After being hit by a 97 mile per hour fastball, Hand feels fortunate that his hand was only swollen and bruised and not broken. Hand, in his first Major League season, has appeared in 16 games this season. He is 0-2 with a 3.41 earned run average in 37 innings.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Donovan Hand left in the fifth inning Tuesday's 6-2 loss to San Diego with a right hand contusion. Hand was hit with a 96 mph fastball from Padres right-hander Tyson Ross in the bottom of the third inning and stayed in to pitch the top of the fourth before turning the ball over to Tyler Thornburg for the fifth inning. X-rays were...

Fan hassled for anti-Braun shirt

A Brewers fan who wore a modified Ryan Braun shirt critical of the suspended player to Miller Park was asked to either remove the shirt of leave by stadium personnel.

My Take: A Milwaukee Fan on Ryan Braun

My thoughts on Braun: A Brewers Fan [Editors Note: We wrote a bit about Braun both before the suspension and then also after.  Today, we get to see a Brewers' fan's perception of the situation.  We'd like to thank Joshua T. Foley for sharing this thoughts with us and hope you find it to be as thought-provoking and insightful as we did as you formulate your own opinion...

Modified Braun shirt not allowed

A Milwaukee Brewers fan says she was asked to leave Miller Park because she had made some changes to her Ryan Braun shirt. Karen Eidem says security tapped her on the shoulder while she was standing with friends at the ballpark Wednesday night. Eidem had changed a couple letters on the back of her Brewers shirt to make it read 'Fraud' instead of Braun because of the slugger...

All eyes will be on Brewers' Yovani Gallardo in afternoon start

With the week the Milwaukee Brewers have been through, salvaging a series split with the San Diego Padres would mean a lot. So would another strong outing from Yovani Gallardo. Gallardo goes for a third straight winning decision Thursday in the finale of this four-game set. After news broke Monday that 2011 NL MVP Ryan Braun would be suspended for the remainder of the season for...

Brewers Fan Wearing ‘Ryan Fraud’ T-Shirt Asked to Leave Game by Security

Ryan Braun‘s name and reputation is getting tarnished and ridiculed in light of his suspension on Tuesday, but at least one Miller Park security member doesn’t find any of it funny. On Wednesday night, the ridiculing continued when Brewers fan Karen Eidem went to the team’s home game wearing her Braun jersey shirt, but with a few minor amendments. She added the letters ...

Brewers say Ryan Braun merchandise sales have increased since suspension

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun has let an entire fan base down in 2013, effectively erasing any remaining hope the team may have had of making the playoffs after admitting to using performance-enhancing drugs and accepting a suspension for the rest of the season. But despite losing an endorsement deal and $3.8 million in salary, [...]

Braun loses endorsement deal with Kwik Trip

A chain of convenience stores is cutting ties with Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun in the wake of his season-ending suspension. Gary Gonczy, director of marketing and advertising for Kwik Trip, Inc., says the company will no longer use Braun as a spokesman. He says in an email Tuesday that the company is ending a promotional contest where the winner got to have lunch with Braun...

John Axford will miss 'pen' pal Francisco Rodriguez

MILWAUKEE -- During his time with the Milwaukee Brewers, John Axford has had the chance to watch two of the more successful closers in baseball history. When Axford first arrived in the big leagues, Trevor Hoffman was there to take him under his wing. With the exclusion of the first month of this season, Francisco Rodriguez has shared the back end of Milwaukee's bullpen with...

Brewers trade Francisco Rodriguez to Orioles

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers have traded reliever Francisco Rodriguez to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for minor league third baseman Nick Delmonico. Rodriguez, 31, appeared in 25 games for the Brewers this season with a 1.09 ERA and 10 saves. Signed in April to a minor-league contract, Rodriguez was promoted to the Brewers on May 15. "We appreciate Francisco'...

Orioles acquire K-Rod in trade

The Baltimore Orioles are trying to solidify their bullpen for their playoff run, and they have added K-Rod to their team in a trade.

Shame on Braun. Shame on baseball. Shame on sports. Shame on us.

"I'm a dbag." The shame on Braun is obvious. So it's been a few days since it was announced that Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers would be suspended for the remainder of the 2013 season, totaling up to 65 games, without pay. Unless you've been hiding in a cave out in the wilderness you know it's because he did in fact use performance-enhancing drugs...

Braun put Brewers in tough spot

A few more thoughts on the Ryan Braun fallout, as we wait for him to enumerate the "mistakes" he acknowledged in Monday's woefully inadequate statement. It may take years for the Milwaukee Brewers to recover fully from this. Prince Fielder arrived in the majors in 2005, Braun followed two years later, and soon afterward it became clear that the Brewers could reasonably...

Hey Carly Rae Jepsen, This 2-Year Old Threw Out A Better First Pitch Than You

This is Milwaukee Brewers bench coach Jerry Narron’s 2-year old grandson throwing out the first pitch before Monday’s 1-0 win against the Miami Marlins. Three observations.1. The YouTube description says he’s JOHNNY Narron’s grandson, but the announcers clearly identify him as Jerry’s. Jerry’s the bench coach for the Brewers and Johnny’s the hitting coach. I’m...

Matt Kemp Believes Ryan Braun Should Be Stripped of 2011 MVP Award, But Doesn’t Think It Should Be Given to Him

In 2011, recently suspended Ryan Braun won the National League Most Valuable Player award. Dodgers slugger, Matt Kemp, finished second in the voting, and after the news that broke Monday, he now believes the Brewers outfielder should be stripped of that honor. “Do I feel like it should be stripped? I mean, yeah, I do,” Kemp told MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick. “I feel like it should...
