That's not much of a surprise -- plenty of teams will shut down their starters for this coming week's final round of exhibition contests. But Washington head coach Mike Shanahan was vague Sunday when asked about McNabb's status for the Redskins' regular-season opener against Dallas. "I really don't know for sure," Shanahan said, according to The Washington Post. "That's why it's day-to-day." McNabb injured his left ankle in Washington's 23-3 preseason loss to Baltimore on Aug. 21. He briefly wore a protective boot over his left foot after that game, then sat out the Redskins' 16-11 win over the Jets last Friday. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
