Drew Storen Selected by the Washington Nationals with the 10th Overall Pick of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft

Stanford right-handed pitcher Drew Storen was chosen by the Washington Nationals today with the 10th overall pick of the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. With Storen's selection, Stanford leads all NCAA Division I baseball programs with 11 first round picks in the past 11 MLB drafts (since 1999). Storen's selection marks the second consecutive for a Stanford player, following catcher Jason Castro in 2008 (to the Houston Astros).
