You now how Russell Westbrook dresses like he's trying to impress Kanye West? Well, he takes a lot of crap for all that in the Oklahoma City Thunder locker room, up to and including an accusation he is assuming the identity of Beyonce's alter ego. "Oh, he's a diva," Durant told ESPN the Magazine. "I call him Sasha Fierce." For the less fierce among us, Sasha Fierce is an alter ego of the pop singer Beyonce. Sasha is, like, the super crazy one or whatever. The fierce one. And Beyonce is just regular-old Beyonce. It's a gimmicky construction nearly as old as pop music itself, but it seems to work OK. Beyonce's 2008 album I am Sasha Fierce received mixed critical reception but was the 10th-best selling album of 2008. It's the album that had "Single Ladies" on it. "Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage," Beyonce told Reuters in 2008. So that's what Durant is talking about. Westbrook's sensual, glamorous side. "He don't care what people say when he plays or when he dresses up," Thabo Sefolosha told ESPN. Westbrook and Durant have had their issues in the past. Some will interpret this as evidence they're getting along just fine. Maybe Durant just prefers Westbrook's more aggressive side.
