Last week, I was speaking with the Hartford Wolf Pack on Twitter regarding their promo night next month, in which they are giving away Dylan McIlrath Bobble-Fists. The organization was happy to provide us with three bobble-fists to give away to our loyal readers here at BSB. The three lucky winners will provide me with name/mailing address, and the bobble-fists will be mailed to the winners after the promo on February 15. To enter, simply comment on this post once. We can track IP addresses of posters, so don’t comment more than once, or you’ll b e disqualified. Three winners will be selected at random and emailed in the next week or so. Tweet

Ryan Callahan, Dan Girardi seeking big contracts in Free Agency

The New York Rangers will be one of the most interesting teams at the NHL trade deadline because two of their best players — right-winger Ryan Callahan and top-pairing defenseman Dan Girardi — are eligible to become unrestricted free agents on July 1. The Blueshirts can either re-sign both players to large contract extensions and risk their ability to sign future free agents...

For those of you who are not internet savvy, NFSW means not-safe-for-work. So if you are here and at work, bookmark this page for when it is safer to view. The New York Rangers and New York Islanders squared off at Yankee stadium. While it was expected to be quite a spectacle, I don’t think the game was as interesting as this Rangers fan’s decision to pee in the middle of the...

The Latest Trade Talk

from Pierre LeBrun of ESPN, One player whose name I would have never predicted to be even possibly in the mix before the season is that of New York Rangers captain Ryan Callahan. But he’s a pending UFA July 1 and so far contract talks have not gone well at all, a source told ESPN.com Tuesday. All of which led to some rumblings that the Rangers are exploring the trade...

Carcillo's goal gives Rangers cold win over Isles

Daniel Carcillo scored the tiebreaking goal 4:36 into the third period, and the New York Rangers completed a two-game sweep of the outdoor series with a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders at frigid Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night. Note to Islanders’ Cal Clutterbuck: Smearing eye black all over your face? Not a good look (photos)

Hoo boy. The New York Islanders took to the ice at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday to test out the conditions in advance of the team’s Stadium Series showdown with the New York Rangers on Wednesday. Rangers broaching Callahan trades as contract talks stall

Never in his career has Ryan Callahan been the subject of trade rumors. Until now, that is, with the March 5 deadline approaching and the Rangers captain apparently on his way to the open market as a free agent on July 1. Rangers still scouting Colorado

Perhaps McGinn is a target? (Image: NHL.com) After trading Michael Del Zotto to the Predators for Kevin Klein, many assumed the scouting of some teams would end. This included the Colorado Avalanche, who the Rangers have been scouting for quite some time. Adrian Dater noted that as recently as yesterday, the Rangers were still scouting the Avs. But with Klein on board, the Rangers...

Girardi looking for 6 year deal

Negotiations with first-pair right defenseman Dan Girardi, also a pending unrestricted free agent, also are ongoing. Girardi, who likely would yield a bigger bounty on the rental market than Callahan, is believed to be seeking a six-year deal in the neighborhood of $5.5 million per season, which represents fair market value. The Rangers have countered with two offers, one for six...

Would You Pay Ryan Callahan $6M For 7 Years?

from Larry Brooks of the New York Post, Negotiations regarding an extension are at a standstill, if not an impasse, with Callahan believed seeking a deal in the neighborhood of seven years at $42 million that is not in the same ballpark as general manager Glen Sather is willing to pay; not even a ballpark as expansive as Yankee Stadium, where the Rangers and Islanders will meet...

Reason Rangers Were Road Team for Stadium Series

The NHL’s Stadium Series at Yankee Stadium just concluded with a New York Rangers 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Wednesday night. If you didn’t notice, the Rangers, who are the most popular hockey team in the Metropolitan area, were the designated road team for both games. That was no accident, and as it turns out, the Rangers were literally afraid to be the home...

The experience of the Stadium Series game was fantastic...
