Associated Press The sand is beginning to run out in the hourglass that has been the season for the Philadelphia Eagles. Their season continued to head downward with a 38-23 loss at home to the Dallas Cowboys. Andy Reid’s team has now lost five straight games and their record on the season dropped to 3-6. While it doesn’t eliminate the Eagles from the playoff race just yet, it definitely pushed them closer to that reality. The word of the day in that game was “implosion.” That’s exactly what happened to the Eagles in the second half against Dallas: they imploded. Backup quarterback Nick Foles stepped in for an injured Michael Vick – who received a concussion — and helped get the Eagles to a 17-10 lead in the 3rd quarter. However, the wheels fell off after that as Dallas lit up the scoreboard with a Tony Romo to Dez Bryant touchdown, an 81-yard punt return for a touchdown by Dwayne Harris and then a tipped pass that was ran back 47 yards by Brandon Carr for a touchdown. Implosion completed. This win was huge for the underacheiving Cowboys, who not only kept their playoff hopes alive, they also picked up some ground in the NFC east division thanks to the division-leading New York Giants getting blown out by the Cincinnati Bengals. What’s next for Reid and the Eagles will be interesting to see unfold. Football fans everywhere know that anything short of the playoffs this year pretty much will signal the end of Reid’s tenure in Philly as their head coach. He says Vick is still his quarterback going forward if he’s healthy enough to play and I guess that makes sense because if Reid is indeed out of there after the season, all signs are pointing to Vick being right behind him. Reid is a good coach, however I just don’t see him being able to turn this nightmare season around. Not this year. It’s time to start the process of turning the page and beginning a new chapter in Philadelphia. The post Eagles Loss Means End of an Era for Vick and Reid appeared first on FootBasket.

Did Andy Reid Get Fired Yet?

I’m not really asking that question (Reid clearly hasn’t gotten fired yet), but it’s the name of a blog that you should check out.

Andy Reid’s ending becoming a sad affair

5 NFC Championship games. 1 Super Bowl appearance. 6 NFC East titles and 1 NFC Championship. 129 wins, 86 losses and 1 dreadful tie. The greatest era of Eagles football ever. It’s a record that most NFL coaches would kill for. In Philadelphia, it’s about to cost a man his job. This is a bitter end. Not the one that Andy Reid deserved. You can say what you want about the man,...

Eagles 'Probably' Won't Fire HC Andy Reid Until Season Is Over

A source close to the Philadelphia Eagles told Yahoo! Sports that head coach Andy Reid will keep his job through Week 11. It is expected however that as soon as Philly is officially eliminated from playoff contention, Reid's job could end at any time. The source also added that Reid will "probably" be fired after the season is over and the tentative plan is to overhaul...

Report: Concussion will likely keep Michael Vick from playing next week

According to Howard Eskin of FOX 29 in Philly, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick likely won’t play in next week’s game after suffering a concussion during today’s loss to the Cowboys. I’m not sure how anyone knows whether Vick will play or not next week, when its only been a few hours since he was concussed.   var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement...

Michael Vick Injured in Cowboys-Eagles Matchup With Concussion, Will Not Return (Animation)

The Nick Foles era is starting earlier than expected. Michael Vick went down mid-way through the second quarter after taking a blow to his head. After being assessed on the sideline for an eye and head injury, he’s been ruled out for the rest of the game with a concussion. Vick was scrambling on the play when defensive tackle Jay Ratliff landed on the Eagles’ quarterback awkwardly...

What Exactly Is A “pretty significant concussion”?

Categories: BREAKING NEWS Eagles News QuarterbacksTags: Danny WatkinsMichael VickNick FolesPhiladelphia EaglesWhen I heard Andy Reid describe Michael Vick’s head injury as “pretty significant concussion”, questions starting popping up in my head.  Why didn’t he just say he’s got a concussion and we’ll have to wait and see whether he passes the tests or not? What...

More Talk Of Andy Reid Coaching The Chargers

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Andy Reid would be interested in coaching the Chargers should he and Norv Turner get fired at some point in the coming months. It’s rare that a head coach who is currently on the seat would have options lined up for him, but Reid is widely respected around the league. There’s been talk that he could end up in Cleveland as well, given...

Redskins prepare for Eagles this week, but will they face Michael Vick or Nick Foles?

As the Washington Redskins (3-6) prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles (3-6) for week 11 action, the question all week is going to be whether they will be going up against turnover prone Michael Vick or the rookie who would be getting his first career start in Nick Foles. All eyes will be on the Philly practice reports this week. Michael Vick exited last night’s loss against...

Andy Reid Plans To Stick With Eagles QB Michael Vick, If Healthy

With Michael Vick out with a concussion, rookie Nick Foles saw his first regular-season action in the Eagles' season-crushing, 38-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. At 3-6, it seems like its time for Foles to get an extended look but that's not part of coach Andy Reid's plan. Reid said after Sunday's game that Vick remains his starting quarterback, if healthy. Jeff...

Michael Vick leaves game with possible concussion

Michael Vick left Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys with a possible concussion. Nick Foles warmed up and came into the game on the Philadelphia Eagles next series. The back of Vick’s helmet snapped and hit the ground one play after Cowboys NT Jay Ratliff landed with force on his back. Foles had not seen any action prior to this and threw an incomplete pass on his only...

The Worst Thing That Could Possibly Happen for the Redskins in the Eagles Vs. Cowboys Happened

When Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick went down with a concussion this past Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys I’m sure there was a grouping of Redskins fans who let out a cheer. After all, in spite of his dismal play this season (serves him right for declaring the Eagles a dynasty before they had won anything) Vick is still one of those players who can take over a game...

NFL Week 11 Picks: Countdown To Fatdown

Drink, Andy, Drink There are seven more weeks in the Andy Reid Era of Eagles Footballery (why seven more? Because firing him one minute earlier than the end of the year might actually give Eagle Fan a moment of joy in this season, and we can't have that), and it's high time to really start savoring the moments. Only seven more times will we be able to play Wasted Timeout...

Cowboys Special Teams Player Gets Pants’d on Kick Off

Well, this is certainly one way to get yourself noticed. Before today, nobody knew who Erik Frampton was – today they all know him personally. I have to say, the Lingerie Football league pantsings are much better. For the record, the Cowboys smoked the Eagles with a flurry of special team/defensive touchdowns. Adios Andy Reid.

NFL Power Rankings: Week 10 Edition

Week 10 of the 2012 NFL season was a rough one for several starting quarterbacks, a couple of teams on the brink of collapsing and any fan who watched the Rams-49ers tie game. Norv Turner and Andy Reid both have sealed their fate with their latest loss. Only a major run at the end of the season would save their jobs and that might not be enough. Michael Vick, Alex Smith, Ben...
