The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to part ways with
long-time coach Andy Reid at the end of their disappointing season, and Oregon
coach Chip Kelly, who’s reportedly headed for the NFL, could be the team’s top
choice as a replacement, according to Albert Breer of NFL.com.
NFL.com's Albert Breer said Friday on NFL Network's
"Around The League" that the team most associated with
Kelly right now is the Philadelphia Eagles. Andy Reid is expected to be
fired after the season, opening the Eagles head-coaching position for the
first time since 1999.
Kelly will likely want to control the personnel wherever he
goes, and the Eagles had given Reid control over those matters, according to
Beyond the Eagles, the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland
Browns are also expected to pursue Kelly. If Breer adds that if Philadelphia
doesn’t land or elects not to pursue him, another target could be University of
Washington coach Steve Sarkisian.
