The Philadelphia Eagles acquired cornerback Kevin Thomas and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts that sent linebackers Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd to the Colts. Colts general manager Ryan Grigson had been the Eagles director of player personnel before being hired by Indianapolis in January, and this is the second trade he's made with his former team in two weeks. On July 22, the Colts traded defensive back D.J. Johnson to the Eagles for defensive tackle Ollie Ogbu. Both were on their respective team's practice squad last year. "I think you get someone there who you talk to every day and then you just try to figure things out," Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said of his familiarity with Grigson. "Obviously that relationship helps and we are able to talk about things. We know that we will shoot each other straight because he is one of my closest friends. At the same time we are going to try to find win...

New Birds Who Have a Real Shot at Making the Philadelphia Eagles Roster

As Philadelphia Eagles training camp continues, the contenders and pretenders for roster spots are starting to separate themselves a little bit.  Nothing is settled yet, of course, but there are a few new players who have a legitimate chance of making this team. By new players, I’m not referring to any of the Eagles’ draft picks because for the most part, they are all virtual...

Ben Ijalana, AJ Edds Lost for the Season to Knee Injuries

The Indianapolis Colts put on pads for the first time in 2012 today at Anderson University. Normally, that’s when injuries start to occur, but for the Colts, they lost two players for the season on Sunday’s first day with non-contact injuries. Offensive lineman Ben Ijalana and linebacker AJ Edds will be lost for the season, head coach Chuck Pagano confirmed after practice...

RB Brown a mystery for Colts

(Eds: With AP Photos.) The Indianapolis Colts thought highly enough of Donald Brown to make him a first-round draft pick in 2009. Three years later, Indianapolis is still trying to find out if Brown can deliver. The man who once looked like a first-round bust is hoping to resurrect his career in a backfield that has no proven starter. He will get to play under a new offensive coordinator...

Colts Sign OT Ty Nsekhe; Waive Ex-2nd Rd. Pick OT Ben Ijalana

The Colts signed free-agent OT Ty Nsekhe and waived-injured OG Ben Ijalana. Ijalana, the team’s second-round pick in the 2011 draft, tore his left ACL on Tuesday, the second time he's suffered an ACL injury to the same knee in less than a year. He would revert to the Colts’ injured reserve list if he goes unclaimed. Ijalana played in four games last season. Nsekhe most recently...

Eagles Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Rocks Green Mohawk, Goatee

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie loves to do crazy things with his hair. Back when he was with the Arizona Cardinals, he rocked a nice red mohawk. Now DRC seems to be doing something similar again as he arrived to Philadelphia Eagles practice Friday rocking a green mohawk and goatee. Well, I guess it looked like a mohawk. It creates the illusion, but it really isn’t.  But what is...

2012 Philadelphia Eagles: Bring Back Terrell Owens

Throughout the NFL, the injury bug is biting down...Hard. Just days into camp, receiver Ron Johnson endured a dislocated ankle and Riley Cooper suffered a broken left collarbone. Philadelphia Eagles' head coach, Andy Reid, has yet to confirm the addition of any replacement free-agent receivers.  If the Eagles are serious about winning, then they should bring in their old friend...

Eagles trade LBs Fokou, Lloyd to Colts

The Philadelphia Eagles have traded linebackers Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd to the Indianapolis Colts for cornerback Kevin Thomas and a conditional seven-round pick in the 2013 draft. Thomas, a third-round pick in 2010, played in nine games last season with the Colts, starting five. He had 33 tackles and three knockdowns. Thomas spent his rookies season on injured reserve because...

Eagles trade LB’s Fokou, Lloyd — add to talented stable of cornerbacks

According to a report on ESPN.com the Philadelphia Eagles have traded away a pair of their linebackers to the Indianapolis Colts. Both Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd will now play for the team that is no longer Peyton’s. In exchange for the duo the Eagles have received third-year cornerback Kevin Thomas and a 2013 conditional seventh-round pick. Thomas (6’0″-192) was a third...

Eagles DE Brandon Graham Brimming With Confidence, Eyeing Starting Job

Eagles DE Brandon Graham has come into camp brimming with confidence and looking noticeably more svelte. Now feeling 100% and coming off a great summer, Graham is surprising even himself. "Just my conditioning [surprised me]. I know I've been working hard and all that. It's just never the same when you put the pads on and you've got to run around with helmets and...

Kevin Thomas is an Eagles...and I have no idea what this means...

It was a surprising trade, to say the least... especially since it involved acquiring yet another cornerback... The Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts have announced a trade that will send linebackers Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd to the Colts in exchange for cornerback Kevin Thomas and a conditional seventh-round draft choice in 2013. The condition of the draft pick...

Daily Haze: Five Post-Hype Players Worth Drafting This Year

No matter what I say or do, I won’t be able to convince owners who drafted Michael Vick last year that they should take him again this year. The damage has been done. It’s irreparable. Fantasy owners don’t forget, and they hold grudges. It’s part of our game. But for the other 11 owners in any given league, Vick and other post-hype players are ripe for the picking. The five...
