The Farm Club:
You are what your record says you are.
Yes that is a very over-used cliche, but there is no more accurate statement in sports. Coach Mike Smith, after the game, stated the same thing in a few different words, “You get what you earn in the NFL. And we have earned a 1-3 record.” If you are looking for my usual “the good” and “the bad” from this game, read any of the previous 3 games’ recaps and apply the same statements to this one. The usual good things happened. Julio Jones fought hard to still be a factor despite being double-teamed the entire night (tripled teamed several times as well). The rookie defensive backs looked solid. The running backs continued to be solid in place of the injured Steven Jackson.
The usual bad things happened. There...

Well now that it is official, and Josh Freeman is on the trade block, I feel there are several teams that could benefit from a trade. Some of the teams need help at quarterback right now, while some could have a very solid veteran on their roster. Here are five teams that I think could […]

I never liked to pen a column immediately after a game, particularly after a loss. Too much emotion. I want to think clearly and take the time to evaluate what I saw. I want to read what other columnists and experts say about the Atlanta Falcons, and soak it all in to a big stew.
I want to take time to let it simmer.
Let it marinate.
Let it breathe.

A staple of nearly every primetime NFL broadcast is the personalized player introductions.
The majority of the intros are rather standard (“Tom Brady, Michigan”), but some guys take it as an opportunity to have a little fun.

The Patriots and Falcons are at half time of a 10 - 10 game. Some good defense through the first half by the Patriots. Two redzone trips end up with 10 points for the Falcons. The Falcons went for it on fourth down and Matty "Melts Like Ice" Ryan misses a wide open Roddy White. He did look good in a two minute drill to tie things up. Could it be I actually...
