It is so easy to pile on the New York Jets. It seems the franchise is built for derision. But all hope is not lost in Jets Land. There is reason for hope. While all the land is concentrating on the Jets' quarterback controversy, running back Chris Ivory was quietly acquired. Ivory has the opportunity to be a diamond in the rough, not just for Jet Nation, but for your fantasy team. The caveat is, this analysis is for traditional fantasy leagues. In PPR formats he will be more of a flex option. Here are some reasons why:Ground and Pound PhilosophyRex Ryan has long professed his fondness for a ground and pound offense. It isn't just talk. All the concentration has been on the ineptitude of the quarterback, Mark Sanchez. But in reality, Shonn Greene carved himself out a decent season last year. Greene in what can only be described as a folly of an offense managed. He completed the season with 1,063 yards on 276 attempts. He averaged 3.9 yards per carry. He also had eight touchdowns. Then he kept on running to Tennessee. It's okay, the Jets picked up a potentially better running back in Chris Ivory. Ivory has a career per carry average of 5.0 yards. He is a bruising runner who gets tough yards after contact. If Greene could manage a productive year, the ceiling is wide open for Ivory.Quarterbacks and Wide ReceiversThis year's NFL Draft was non-existent for the Jets' offense. Okay, they picked up Geno Smith to start a Jets open quarterback competition controversy. There is virtually no one in the known world who believes Smith will start the first game for the Jets. This leaves Sanchez and his merry band of receivers, none of which proved to be capable of helping the offense. Which leaves Ivory to save the day. Ivory is capable of putting on the Superman cape and relieving the pressure off the Jets' offense. If he stays healthy.  Ivory was buried on the depth chart in New Orleans. He was also prisoner to a potent passing game. Even so, last season on 40 carries he had 217 yards and two touchdowns. Ivory will be asked to carry the ball at least 15 times a game to take the pressure off Sanchez. Also for your fantasy value you do not have to be worried about the dreaded running back by committee. Injuries yes, sharing the load no.Offensive SchemeNew offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg's has a great track record with running backs. In eight of his 13 seasons in the NFL, Mornhinweg's offenses have ranked in the top 10 in yards per carry average.  Since this is Ivory's strong suit, nothing but good should come of this pairing. For your fantasy team, Ivory's ADP is currently 46 overall. He is going in the fourth round. He is your diamond in the rough.Follow me on Twitter @neverenoughglt
