Thursday night football is a jinx for away teams.  Home teams are 5-1 on Thursday nights.  The only away team to win was the New York Giants against the Carolina Panthers.  And let's face it almost everyone has beat up on the Panthers this year. So lets avoid Thursday being a jinx for you. This Thursday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to Minnesota to meet the Minnesota Vikings.  The Buccaneers are 2-4.  They are coming off a loss to the New Orleans Saints.  The Vikings are a surprising 5-2, coming off a win against the Arizona Cardinals. Are there any Cardinals or Buccaneers worth putting in your fantasy line up in Week 8?Christian Ponder or Josh FreemanIf you played Ponder last week you are probably still drying the tears while contemplating this idea.  Yes, he had only 58 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.  And it isn't a typo, Ponder really only had 58 yards for the entire game.  Passing for 58 yards coupled with two interceptions does not make for a confident fantasy starter. But the Buccaneers' opponents are averaging 8.32 yards per pass attempt.  Last week Drew Brees amassed 377 yards and four touchdowns against the Buccaneers' defense.  Yes, it was Brees.  And yes, this is Ponder.  So sit Ponder.  It's a Thursday night game. If you played Freeman last week you are still sailing on your fantasy high.  Last week Freeman had 420 yards and three touchdowns.  All good things come to an end.  Freeman tallied his yards and touchdowns on the New Orleans Saints.  And let's face it almost everyone has scored on the Saints. The Vikings' defense is more formidable than the Saints' defense. No number one quarterback is on a bye this week.  If you did have Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andy Dalton, Joe Flacco or Matt Schaub as your number one, then by all means play Freeman.  You have been doing worse. Adrian Peterson or Doug MartinPeterson is a stud.  There I said it.  Play him!  Last week he ran for 153 yards and one touchdown.  Doug Martin is a rookie who is running towards stud status.  Last year he ran for 85 yards, received 37 yards and had one touchdown.  The only problem with Martin is LeGarrette Blount.  Blount may be taking goal line carries away from Martin.  Last week in a weak attempt to get in the end zone Blount was stopped three times. Blount finished with negative two rushing yards on five carries.  So maybe the confidence in Blount isn't what it used to be.  Martin is reliable.  He can be a flex starter for you this Thursday. Percy Harvin or Vincent JacksonAgainst any other defense I would insist you play Jackson.  Last week Jackson had 216 receiving yards and one touchdown.  Jackson and Freeman are becoming a fantastic duo.  And if that isn't enough there is always Mike Williams to toss to when Jackson is covered. On any given Sunday I say hell ya!  But it is Thursday and the Buccaneers are the away team.  After last Sunday the Vikings will look to lock down Jackson.  Williams may be your sleeper choice.Percy Harvin is over the headaches.  He still has Ponder.  The Saints' torched the Buccaneers secondary.  Harvin should see the end zone a couple of times. The trouble with fantasy and Thursday night games is Thursday night.  You play your stud and he doesn't produce that gives you three days to kick yourself and curse me for the play.  Three days is a long time.  For fantasy advice and links follow me on Twitter @neverenoughglt and come see @ www.neverenoughfantasyfootball.com
