One of the most trusted publications for predicting weather has projected that a major snow storm could hit the Northeast of the United States between Feb. 1 and Feb. 3. This is significant because the Super Bowl is set to be played Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.“It really looks like the Super Bowl may be the Storm Bowl,” Sandi Duncan, the managing editor of the Farmers’ Almanac, told The Associated Press. The game will mark the first time in history that a Super Bowl will be held outdoors in a cold weather climate. Extremely cold temperatures and large snowfall totals were exactly what some organizers feared when initially planning the game.Overall, the publication is predicting a colder-than-normal winter for most of the country, and heavy snowfall in the Midwest, Great Lakes, and New England. The good news is that the Farmers' Almanac isn't always completely accurate. Its secret formula relies on planetary positions, sunspots, and lunar cycles.Editors claim the record is correct about 80 percent of the time.Via Sports Illustrated
