Final hours of trade deadline proving fast and frantic

Some of you may have already heard, but the Boston Red Sox have completed that trade with the Cleveland Indians to land catcher Victor Martinez. The Red Sox are in the wild-card lead and "going for it'' in 2009. That's the kind of move a team trying to win this year makes. The Red Sox sent the Indians RH reliever Justin Masterson, their sandwich round pick from last year, Bryan Price and LHP Nick Hagadone, the top-ranked southpaw in their system. That's a steep price. But it's one teams pay when they try for a championship.
