The final preseason game is usually a going-through-motion affair for most NFL teams. It's even moreso for the Dallas Cowboys, who have already played four of these practice games. So what's there to look for in Thursday's Lone Star State battle with the Houston Texans? If you're hoping to see Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, DeMarcus Ware and all of the Cowboys' bigger names perform, you're out of luck. Very few starters, if any, will see any playing time as a precaution against injuries. There will be some drama associated with the game. However, only the most dedicated students of depth charts and rosters will realize what's at stake as many of Thursday's participants will be wearing an NFL helmet for the final time. Rosters have to be cut down to a final 53 by 5 p.m., Dallas time, on Saturday. The roster currently is at 75 players. After four previous exhibition games and an extra week of training camp, few players are actually on the bubble at this p...

Former Cowboys Safety Darren Woodson says the team “Does not have the sauce” to win it all

Yesterday, the former Cowboys safety and three-time Super Bowl champion Darren Woodson was asked what he thinks are the ingredients to winning in the NFL. His answer included two of the weakest areas on Dallas’ roster. “You have to win in the trenches,” Woodson said before the Cowboys Kickoff Luncheon at AT&T Stadium. “That’s the […]

Last night a UDFA CB named A.J. Bouye disrespected the Dallas Cowboys (T.O. Style)

I love A.J. Bouye ever since his time at UCF, but this kid had a play in which he regrets, but was awesome.  I don’t care if you are a Cowboys fan or not, what he did was great, because up until this point, he didn’t know if his job was safe with the Houston […]

Romo: 'I couldn't imagine coaching'

IRVING, Texas During a Tuesday morning radio interview on 105.3 The Fan, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones compared Tony Romo to New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton. Payton, also a former college quarterback at Eastern Illinois, coached Romo early in his NFL career. With Romo having more input in the Cowboys' offensive game-planning this year, Jones made the statement while...

Romo getting 'more involved' a result of Jerry-Parcells talk

IRVING, Texas Quarterback Tony Romo is "significantly more involved'' in the Cowboys' play-calling and game-planning, owner Jerry Jones says, in part as a result of a consultation Jones had with Hall-of-Fame coach Bill Parcells. "In visiting with Bill, he thought it was something that we really ought to maybe take advantage of is Tony's ability to see...

ARLINGTON Before stopping to be interviewed after Thursday night's preseason finale, Dez Bryant walked past reporters in the Dallas Cowboys locker room and said he wasn't going to take any questions about Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel being suspended for the first half of the Aggies' season opener on Saturday. Eli, Giants have fewest questions in tough East

RG3's knee in Washington, Chip Kelly's arrival in Philadelphia and Tony Romo's contract in Dallas were some of the biggest stories in the NFL during the offseason. Left out were the New York Giants, the NFC East's best team the past five years. That's just fine with the four-time Super Bowl champions. When they've been overlooked recently, the Giants sneaked...

The Cowboys should be playoff bound in 2013

The Dallas Cowboys are the new San Diego Chargers. By that, I mean, the Cowboys are a chronically underachieving team, but they’ve bought into the rebirth mantra that owner Jerry Jones has been preaching, and frankly, they should. The Cowboys play in a very competitive division, but it’s not necessarily the best in football. Every team in the NFC East has a legitimate opportunity...
