It's true, the season began with a not-so-subtle disappointment against the Fighting Singletaries - the same day that the NFC Championship banner was unfurled at University of Phoenix Glendale Campus Stadium. The inexplicable opening loss was followed up at home by a more-splicable defeat to the Colts. At that point of the season, the 09 Cards were playing like the 08 rendition: an inconsistent bunch with no viable aspirations for playoff glory until they hit their incredible winter run.But then something clicked. Beanie Wells started toting the rock more and more, Warner remembered he could throw it around all day, and the defense stiffened. In the two-game road trip to Seattle & NYC, the D yielded just two TDs, while forcing six turnovers. It was after the Giants game that something happened in the garage...
