The Mayweather’s and Oscar De La Hoya have a long history, going back to Money Mayweather’s battle with De La Hoya in 2007. They are more than intertwined at just the combat level, their businesses have also crossed over, and have been fruitful for everyone involved. Just a few days ago, Oscar De La Hoya dropped the bomb that he would not be attending this weekend’s mega-fight between Mayweather and Canelo, due to checking himself into rehab. It’s a sad tale, and our Marcos Villegas spoke to Floyd Mayweather Sr. about this turn of events. “I feel for Oscar. I was really sorry to hear that, you know, it touched me. I never thought De La Hoya was like that. I can’t say anything bad about De La Hoya because to me, he  was a nice guy, and we always got along well, we’ve done a lot of things together and he’s always been a friend.
