Rockin' the Red:
Well, here it is. Like a younger, non-perverted Brett Favre, I've come out of retirement to return to the blogging ranks. While you're still questioning that comparison, I'll answer a few questions you might have...
Yes, I'm still in school. Yes, I have been alive this whole time. No, I did not accept any money to come here; that was my father, and I had no idea he was soliciting offers. Yes, I do have a new Lexus. No, that's just a coincidence.
That's a Cam Newton reference in case you don't watch college football. It's a baseball blog, so I don't blame you. That makes three football references in my return to Rockin' the Red, but, given right now I have a collective audience of my immediate family plus or minus someone trying to buy the URL of this site, I don't have many standards, kind of like Rick Ankiel's HGH doctor. Thereeee we go. Baseball reference to bring it home.
What do I hope to accomplish here? I mean, the blogging market is uber-saturated, and there's no shortage of Cardinals writers to boot. Some good, many bad, but I feel like the bad ones are probably my biggest competition. There is no "larger than life" perspective I have to share, and all the stats have been congested and digested ten times over by actual statisticians. I offer exactly this - a place to talk about Cardinals baseball, baseball in general, and other stuff. So, if you like my writing, I encourage you to not stop liking my writing. If you don't, well, that's your choice, and it's probably not a minority opinion. So leave, CONFORMIST!
Crazy or not, Mark Mulder was in my dream last night. Why he was there isn't relevant (that's just what he wants you to think), but it got me thinking... what about Mark Mulder? I googled him, expecting to find some amateur league baseball stats or a run in the Dominican league. Nope. He does golf. Not like Mark McGwire "golf". Actual, real golf. He's won 6 of 9 amateur tournaments. I'm sure I'm the last one to know this, too. Jeff Fletcher from Fanhouse has the scoop:
We have a few brave souls daring to question whether we should trade Colby this year. Take a lesson from Mark, drop it.

Mulder said he'll also keep trying to qualify for the U.S. Open. He said he was at the cut line after 15 holes in a local qualifier this year, but the tripled-bogeyed to take himself out of contention.Ah, even in golf he can't manage to f... nah, I'm happy for him. Do you realize how much pressure we put on him after departing with farm system fanboy prodigy Daric Barton? It's the reason John Mozeliak shudders before considering any trade involving a top 10 prospect, and probably a reason Colby Rasmus made it this far in the system.
We have a few brave souls daring to question whether we should trade Colby this year. Take a lesson from Mark, drop it.
