Doug Flutie is among five former NCAA quarterbacks looking to earn an invite to the Arizona Diamondbacks spring training.Flutie (Boston College), along with Josh Booty (LSU), his brother John David Booty (USC), David Greene (Georgia), and Ryan Perrilloux (LSU) will compete in a new reality TV show called the "The Next Knuckler" for the right to pitch in a live Major League Baseball game in spring training. MLB Network is slated to premiere the series on Feb. 13.Josh Booty may be considered the early odds-on favorite due to his time spent as a third basemen in the Marlins organization. None of the other four contestants even have any remnants of collegeThe contestants will have the privilege of learning the art of the knuckleball through the tutelage of former Boston Red Sox hurler Tim Wakefield, who is widely considered one of the best knuckleballers of all-time.Flutie won the 1984 Heisman Trophy as a member of the Boston College football team.
