freebatogato.JPGYou all know Kyle Whelliston is our number one homeboy here at STF. He was one of the first nationally-recognized bloggers to support what we do here, in spite of the fact that we write about Big Six hoops in addition to the mids. He hosts our site on his server, and he designed our header image (holla atcha Press and Pistol!). We're hoops brethren.

Nonetheless, I must speak truth to power today (I learned it from watching you, DAD!). Kyle has made a grave mistake in banning @batogato from the @midmajority twitter feed for his (admittedly terrible) joke that beating Wake Forest isn't really an upset any more. I'm not defending the joke, but I am defending the man. Rob and his cronies at Gheorghe: The Blog are huge supporters of the CAA and, specifically, William & Mary hoops. I've confabbed with them at the Richmond Coliseum in March. They follow their beloved Wrens win or lose (and, given their age range, it's been mostly lose). Obviously, they've suffered enough.

Basically, these are guys who willingly drive long distances and pay good money to watch William & Mary *almost* make the NCAA tournament, year after year. They celebrate Gheorgheness the way we celebrate Big Ant. They are also hoops brethren. They're true believers. Demented and sad, but social. Let's commute the sentence to "time served" and maybe make Rob do something publicly humiliating on the interwebs. Not because I think he needs additional punishment, but because I think it would be fun, and he'd probably do it.

C'mon Kyle. Have a heart. FREE @BATOGATO!
