Found May 05, 2013 on Frozen Notes:
Game 3 between the Blues and Kings can be summarized with just two words: wasted opportunities. Maybe two more words: missed wide. Even if you take a few moments trying to remember all of the chances the Blues had, you probably won't be able to remember all of them.  David Backes, Jordan Leopold, Andy McDonald, Alex Steen, Patrik Berglund and numerous others all had high-percentage chances. On some Jonathan Quick was in net. On most he was absent, either sprawled out on the ice or on the wrong side of the action.  Am I prepared to dismiss LA's effort in favor of blaming this loss on the Blues' accuracy issues? Yes. The Blues played an extremely strong game on the road and only walk out of this one with a negative result because they couldn't bury a shot with the net gaping.  The Kings found the net on a scrum where numerous bodies were in the crease. It was one of those shots where it's actually pretty remarkable that the puck got through the traffi...

Hitchcock to Tarasenko: "Get ready to play"

Immediately following their loss in Game 3, Ken Hitchcock headed for the St. Louis dressing room. As he did so he passed Vladimir Tarasenko, a healthy scratch for the first three games of the series. Hitchcock made a quick statement which signals we'll be seeing Tarasenko in this series very soon: "Get ready to play." There are two potential scenarios here...

Kings need goals to get back in series with Blues

Jonathan Quick got much of the credit during the Los Angeles Kings' run to the Stanley Cup last year. The goalie also says he's to blame for the Kings' two losses to St. Louis in their current series. Quick's teammates know that's simply not true. A goalie isn't supposed to score goals - and unless the Kings start finding the Blues' net in Game 3 on...

Game 2: Blues 2, Kings 1

Have you calmed down after last night's win? No? Me neither, but let's stop watching the video of Jackman's winner for a few minutes and talk about last night's game.  Just like Game 1, Game 2 was a brutal physical affair. Big hits littered the game, occurring on nearly every single play or possession. The Kings were looking to bring a more intense effort after...

Blues Drop First in LA, 1-0

"I had the perfect dream"- Freddie MercuryYes, after the Blues took the first two games against the Los Angeles Kings, I allowed myself to indulge in the dream that they could sweep the defending Cup champions and rest up for the next round.  It was not a reasonable expectation, however it was hard to resist.  Jonathan Quick popped the bubble on that dream last night...

LA now trails in the series 2-1. Goalie Jonathan Quick was once again sharp, turning back all 30 shots in recording his fifth career playoff...

Blues upbeat heading into Game 3

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) The Los Angeles Kings made playoff hockey look almost easy last season, steamrolling four straight opponents on the way to their first Stanley Cup title. The Kings are back to NHL reality this spring, and it's considerably less pretty. They've managed just two goals in two games against the hungry St. Louis Blues. Conn Smythe Trophy-winning goalie...
