Game Preview…DePaul vs. Chicago State

Welcome back Tracy Dildy. Well, not exactly as a friend but as a foe. For those of you that don’t remember, Dildy was Pat Kennedy’s main recruiting guy that helped secure players like Quentin Richardson and Bobby Simmons. He is now the head coach of Chicago State. The biggest story line in this game will be the beginning of the Oliver Purnell era. He decided to host this game on DePaul’s campus in the smaller McGrath Arena because he suggested that it will help get student support as well as lead the way to an on-campus arena. Yes, he said it!!! While we all know that DePaul isn’t picked to do much this season, losing last week to Division II Lewis University wasn’t exactly in the cards either. While Lewis did shoot almost 70% in the first half, this team will need to contest more shots against better competition. DePaul wasn’t the only team to lose to a Division II foe (Tennessee), so hopefully Purnell can use this as a learning experience. Chica...
