It certainly looks like Los Angeles is well on their way to winning the Stanley Cup. Tonight they won game three by a 4-0 margin. This is the only one-sided game of the series so far. It is the only game that did not go to overtime.
The series is still a defensive series where both teams are afraid to try to win based upon talent. The final shot total was 22-21 in favor of New Jersey. These are low totals for a hockey game. This is a result of teams that are afraid to make a real offensive rush. An offensive push is usually a 3 on 5 as teams have kept their defencemen back regardless of if they have anyone to check. Teams are relying on their defensive systems instead of trying to win based on talent. Today there is another reason that made this problem bigger. Bad ice. It is hard to get anything going offensively when skating and puckhandling on a slurpee.
