Gameday returns to East Lansing for today's Ohio State vs. Michigan State game, but it will have a different look and atmosphere than any previous visits to the campus. Michigan State president Lou Anna K. Simon spoke to boosters yesterday and complained that Gameday previously set up on an intramural field with the football stadium and other athletic facilities in the background, spurring the program to set up in front of the iconic Beaumont Tower.
"Every time Gameday has been here, every shot has been of the football stadium," Simon wailed. "There has never been a shot when Gameday was here about anything that would say they're an academic institution. Nothing. A bunch of kids in sweatshirts yelling, a mascot, and a football stadium and a parking lot."
