PLAYERS: Tiger Woods
Sergio Garcia says he hasn't spoken to Tiger Woods after making an inappropriate remark about the world No. 1-ranked golfer, and he would certainly take an opportunity to talk to him at the U.S. Open. Garcia sparked controversy this week by saying he would serve fried chicken if they were to have dinner together at the U.S. Open. That kind of stereotype has been used for at least a century to denigrate African-Americans. Speaking at the BMW PGA Championship on Thursday, the Spanish golfer says ''unfortunately'' he hadn't spoken to Woods since making the remark at an awards dinner in southern England. Garcia adds ''if I manage to talk to Tiger then I will do that definitely when I see him at the U.S. Open.''
