The Giants made their first move of the trade season with a quiet acquisition of right handed pitcher Guillermo Moscoso tonight’s opposing Chicago Cubs on Friday afternoon for cash or a player to be named later.
As far as where Moscoso will go, “We’re talking about it as we speak,” said Giants’ manager Bruce Bochy. “He’s a guy with a good arm…we’re glad to have him in the organization.”
29-year-old Moscoso recorded a 6.12 ERA with 34 earned runs in 50 innings with the Colorado Rockies during the 2012 season. He went 8-10 with a 3.38 ERA through 128 innings with the Oakland Athletics in 2011.
Other news: Joaquin Arias was activated from the disabled list today after two successful rehab starts. To make room, RHP Jake Dunning was sent down to Fresno, but Bochy said the decision had very little to do with Dunning himself.
