What happened in Vegas almost stayed in Vegas. Gaudin was actually arrested back in January, but it was never reported. The Big Lead got a hold of the story and what a story it is. According to police, Gaudin was drunk about 4:30 a.m. when he approached a 23-year-old woman on a gurney at Desert Springs Hospital, three miles east of the Las Vegas Strip. The woman told police she was lying on a gurney in the emergency room lobby when Gaudin appeared, told her “she was gorgeous” and touched her face and breast, she said. A witness heard Gaudin say, “I will take care of you, don’t worry about them,” to the woman and then saw him touch her face, leg and breast, according to a police report. You have to be pretty drunk to find a woman on a hospital gurney attractive.  Sounds like a deleted scene from The Hangover.

Chad Gaudin charged with lewdness after allegedly groping woman in Las Vegas ER

So, Chad Gaudin had himself quite a night in Vegas earlier this year. The Giants pitcher is charged with open and gross lewdness, a misdemeanor, after he was arrested back in January for allegedly groping a woman in an ER lobby. It’s a story that’s just downright bizarre and creepy. Police say it all went down at 4:30 a.m. at the Desert Springs Hospital three miles off the...

The inevitable Pablo Sandoval problem

“I once ate a 12-pound steak this big” – Pablo Sandoval by Nathan Mendelowitz Pablo Sandoval: The man, the enigma, the gutted one. Those are just a few ways and names to describe the Giants most interesting player on the roster. There are many reasons why Sandoval is the most interesting, unfortunately most of them are for all the wrong reasons. When Pablo burst his way onto...

Reactions To The Francoeur Signing

What do I think of the Giants signing Jeff Francoeur? I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see it having a major impact.  I was wrong, after all, about Pat Burrell. Francoeur has had a lot of bad years and only one good one over the last half-decade or so.  He’s decent against left-handed pitching only.  He’s got mediocre defense.  I don’t see him catching the Giants magic...

Matt Cain says he's healthy after Giants pull him in first inning

The sight of the bullpen warming up is not something Matt Cain is used to in the first inning of a game, but that's exactly what happened on Wednesday night against the New York Mets. A short time later, following John Buck's two-run single, San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy pulled Cain for Mike Kickham after just 36 pitches. Cain told Tim Kawakami of the San Jose...

Stunning Interview With GM Brian Sabean: "You Can't Remake the Whole Team"

Last night the San Francisco Giants played their most recent "worse game of the 2013 season"-- this time a 16 inning 4-3 loss to the New York Mets. Next time I get my hands on enough prescription anti-depressants I'll make myself publish a list of the top 20 nastiest Giant games of the first half of the 2013 season. Anyway, I was watching episodes of "Shameless...

Kensuke Tanaka makes spectacular catch in Giants debut

It didn't take long for Kensuke Tanaka to make a big impression during his MLB debut Tuesday night. The San Francisco Giants leftfielder also left a little mark on the left field wall after robbing the New York Mets' Andrew Brown of hit in the second-inning with this spectacular catch. San Francisco Giants Option Mike Kickham To Fresno

The San Francisco Giants have optioned left-handed pitcher Mike Kickham to Triple-A Fresno. The young lefty did not make an appearance during his latest call up back on Tuesday. He rejoins Fresno’s rotation and should get another chance later in the summer to showcase his talents at the big league level. The post San Francisco Giants Option Mike Kickham To Fresno appeared first...

Mets edge Giants in 16 innings

Tim Lincecum was long gone. The few remaining players in the San Francisco Giants' clubhouse sported ice wraps or bandages - or both. Manager Bruce Bochy just rubbed his face and scratched his head, searching for answers to the same questions that have plagued his team for more than a month.

Division battle by the bay, Oakland vs Giants

Oakland fans have had to wait a long time for days like this. As anyone familiar with Bay Area baseball will surely know, the San Francisco Giants have won two out of the last three World Series Championships. For too long now Oakland fans have seen throngs of new Giants fans delivered by the week, but as Bob Dylan might say the times they are a changing. The Oakland Athletics have...

Giants sign Jeff Francoeur to minor-league contract

It’s come to this for the beleaguered Giants. Signing a player that not even the Kansas City Royals wanted. The Giants and outfielder Jeff Francoeur agreed to a minor-league contract. The team hopes he can give the slumping outfield some kind of boost eventually. Easier said than done. He was DFA’ed by the Royals last month after hitting .208 with 3 homers and 13 RBI in 59 games...

Byrd Slams, Giants Continue to Slide in 10-6 Loss: “It Stinks. Everything Stinks.”

What originally looked like an evenly-matched game escalated quickly as the San Francisco Giants fell once more to the New York Mets 10-6 on Tuesday night. Marlon Byrd knocked any hope of either extra-innings or a Giants win out of the park with a grand slam in the eighth inning. Jeremy Affeldt, whose three earned runs scored on Byrd’s slam, was grasping at straws. “It stinks...
