The Car: Chassis RK-844 was brand new to the track earlier this year at Phoenix and earned a 17th-place finish. The American Red Cross and RFR: Roush Fenway Racing hosted two employee blood drives in 2012 and the last names of the employees who participated in those drives are featured on the hood of the No. 16 Red Cross Ford this weekend in Richmond. The American Red Cross is celebrating the sixth year of its Red Cross Racing partnership with 3M and Roush Fenway Racing. How to Donate Blood: All blood types are needed to ensure an adequate supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license, or two other forms of positive identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are generally in good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements. Visit redcrossblood.org for more information. About the American Red Cross: o The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more information, please visit redcross.org or join our blog at http://blog.redcross.org. Biffle on Richmond: “Short tracks have been a little challenging for us in the past, but it seems like we’re doing better at short tracks than we are at these big tracks. So I’m excited about going to Richmond, we ran well there the two races last year. We’ve got the American Red Cross on our car. Think about all the people that need blood, go donate blood, every two seconds someone in America needs blood.” Puccia on Richmond: “Richmond is a fast ¾-mile track and it hasn’t been one of our strongest places. Last fall we had a good run and learned a bunch on what it takes to be strong at Richmond. Track position is huge, you’ve got to be able to roll the center and drive off. We’ll take what we learned and hopefully have our Red Cross Ford up front at the end.”
