Georges arrived in Las Vegas yesterday - spent a few hours with him, Firas, and Jay Kiss getting everyone settled in, figuring out what they forgot to bring that I need to pick up, etc. I say that with affection, because this is the week I officially go into what I refer to as 'mom' mode, as there's no contract negotiations, no brand strategy, just fight-related PR and making sure that Georges and his team have everything thing they need so that Georges performs his best on Saturday night.
For my Canadian friends, a little treat for you - I'll be taking Georges to a local studio where he'll be able to give Mike Lansberg an exclusive one-on-one interview via satellite for this evening's show. For those of you who are fans of Mike's show, you'll know that Mike's antagonistic style is in stark contrast to Georges' respectful demeanor, but somehow the two have a rapport and genuine respect for each other that has developed ever since we first appeared on Mike's shows back in September of 2007. It's interesting - I find myself typing the word 'we' quite a bit, and just now I started to go back and change it in the previous sentence to Georges, as clearly it's him on the show and not both of us. But it's a natural, subconscious expression of the partnership we have, so it sort of flows out.
Last-minute preparations for our Expo booth are progressing - I'm excited to see Georges' fans' reaction to the next logo as finalized and available on the rally bandanas, shirts, etc. I'm also working with our event managers to TRY to open up some spots at the after party, since the auction was such an overwhelming success, and we'd really like to accommodate as many people as possible...I'll let you know if I'm successful in that attempt.
Gotta run - working with graphics designers this a.m. to finalize and print his walk-out gi. New color this time. :)
