That is the theme for the Class of 2011 if all goes well here Tuesday, when the Hall’s 18-member selection committee meets to debate and ultimately select November’s new members. “Repair” as in make things right for a few players who have been passed over in recent years, because this is the committee’s last chance for a while to get some of these players in before a new wave of slam-dunk candidates come (Joe Sakic, Rob Blake, Scott Niedermayer and Brendan Shanahan are a few of the players who will become eligible over the next two years). The only first-year eligible player of note for 2011 is former All-Star goalie Ed Belfour, and we’d be surprised if he got the nod in his first chance. So let’s make this a catch-up year.
