After two straight losses at the hands of the Yankees, it looked like the Jays were about to hit their first slump of the season.  Maybe last year's edition of the Jays would have, but this year, everything is different.  Following their first home series loss against the Yankees, the Jays countered with three straight wins against the Chicago White Sox.  Two impressive starts by rookies Cecil and Ray, anchored by the always consistent Halladay have given the Jays a three game winning streak, with the chance of the the rare four game sweep with their last game on Victoria Day.  To be completely honest, this series has almost not been fair.  Aside from the second game when the Jays got the trying and winning RBI's from Lind and Bautista in the eight inning, this series has looked like a school-yard bullying incident.  The Jays have literally shoved the White Sox around, allowing only six runs in three games, while chalking up 17 runs themselves.  In the process, Cecil has sustained his bid to remain in the starting rotation, while Ray took his turn in doing the same. In a typical Halladay performance, he went seven strong allowing one earned run and six hits while striking out eight.  Halladay earned his major league leading 8th win, and with the offence clicking the way it is and finally giving him sufficient run support, it is scary to think that he could win around 25 games easily. The final game of the four game series comes to us on Monday as Scott Richmond (4-2, 4.28 ERA) attempts to rebound from his horrid start against the Yankees.  He will face White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd (2-3, 7.32 ERA).Quick thought for the night:I have been constantly saying that this Jays team is not for real.  I was thinking that the hitters were over achieving and their thin starting rotation was going to get beaten up eventually.  But we're almost a third into this season, and the Jays are showing no signs of letting up.  When Marcum, McGowan, Litsch and Romero return from injury, Gaston is going to have somewhere near 9 starting pitchers to choose from.  It will come down to one thing, and one thing only.  How will the Jays fare against divisional rivals?  They have lost one series against New York, and with MLB's unbalanced schedule, they are due to face Boston, New York and Tampa many times in the near future.  It's going to get very interesting soon...
