Heatley to EDM for Penner, Cogliano and Smid...maybe

Howdy from Ottawa. Huge 11th hour news for the Ottawa Senators organization. The deal on the table is below, yet Dany Heatley has not waived his no-movement clause to go to Edmonton. Heatley's agent J.P Barry believe's the $4 mil. bonus deadline was 11:59pm Wednesday while the Sens believe it was 11:59pm Tuesday. If Heatley doesn't waive his clause to go to EDM, the New York Rangers are currently the only other team interested. Obviously more to come...below is what a blog would look like if this deal actually happens...and Sens fans I know your pissed, but this STILL may happen. In is $5.38 mil. + with F Dustin Penner ($4.25 cap hit), F Andrew Cogliano ($1.13 cap hit) and D Ladislav Smid (RFA). Smid made $952,000 last season and he didn't have a great year on-ice so a small raise to around Cogliano's number makes sense. If that is accurate then the Sens get $6.5 mil. while send out $7.5.
